Happy Memorial Day

So things have actually gotten better since last time. They took mom off most of her medications like glucophage and vitamins. Now she is on more anti- agitation pills and is relaxed more. She also seemed more with it this week as her stories were straight and not mixed up. Mom has said she is ready to go and wonders what heaven will be like. Living Day to Day

Here is another update. This weekend was mother's day and I was glad that she is still with us. I got her a metal tree with pictures of Brennon on it. She liked it. Mom's condition is getting worse and the hospice nurse told me to expect it as the cancer is in her brain. Mom has been moved to another dining hall for the memory care folks. they help her eat there. Of course mom is like me and says "nothing green!" alot. Mom Update

I am sitting here with mom. She is confused more than ever. I think it is called terminal agitation. What that means is when the body starts shutting down the ph of her blood changes causing delirium, confusion and agitation. Her face is no longer red but white. I think that is also a sign. Basically in my opinion mom does not have long. I can't say for sure but I think 2 weeks to month. Super Life

So it has been a while since I have written. First an update on my mom. She is doing the same. She has moments of lucidity and moments of total confusion. My sister had the doctor change some medicines as that could have been affecting moms brain. It is always good having a neurologist in the family. Obviously the cancer is progressing, but at what rate we do not know. I think since mom is the same, it is slower than I thought a couple of weeks ago. So instead of weeks she has months. Bad News

Ok so here is the bad news. I talked to hospice today and they said my mother has taken a turn for the worse. I noticed on Sunday her face was red, she was really confused and slumped over all of the time. The hospice lady said that she could feel a mass on her right side indicating a large liver tumor. She also said that her face was red because of lupus. Both her and mom's doctor think the cancer is now in her brain. She is really confused and asked me "now what do I do" many times on Sunday.… Continue

Happy Easter to One and All!

So this weekend is Easter. We visited my brother Grant yesterday and his five kids. It is fun to always catch up. Brennon had fun playing with his cousin that is his age. They surprised me with a turkey. It was pretty good. Sunday I am going to take mom to Rafain's, my favorite restaurant of all time. Mom likes it as well. There is nothing like having people walk around to your table with 15 different cuts of meat that you can choose from. Anyways the real reason for the season is not Easter…

Days of my lives

What has been happening in my life? Well last Friday I had the pleasure of getting a crown on a tooth and then oral surgery to remove an impacted wisdom tooth next to it. Then we had a flat tire leaving the dentist office. The dentist actually got out and helped put a spare tire on since I was still loopy after the anesthesia. Monti is not Sorry

So I have been off work for a couple of days. I needed a little break, I only get 13 days vacation a year so having Thursday and Friday off is actually a big deal. Of course it was a staycation. My house has too many amenities to not have to go anywhere to relax. A hut tub, whirlpool bath and projector make my life relaxing. iPad or YourPad?

The big storm this week is the release of the new iPad. For some reason I am drawn to it and wonder if it is worth upgrading from an iPad 2 to a new iPad(I would give the iPad 2 to Holly). Technically it is faster and clearer than the existing iPad. I was a little disappointed that Siri is not on it. I told Holly I would like to see if the screen really "pops" to see if it is worth it. Minis Try

Ok, Mom's birthday is this Sunday. That is a major milestone IMO just because she had major surgery to remove a baseball sized tumor over a year ago. Last year was incredibly hard on all of us and I am just thankful she is here to share it with us. She has a little pain but hospice takes care of it all. Growing

Let's see. Brennon is growing and won't seem to stop. He is still as cute as ever and now has taken to actually reading. Pretty good at 2 1/2. Of course his speech is a little delayed, probably because he hears Spanish during the day and English at night. I think that is common for dual language learners. Brennon has also gotten better at the potty. He now goes number two in the potty more often which is terrific for us. Coaxing him with the iPad helps a lot. Clean Potty Mouth

Hello fellow readers. Welcome to another edition of my weekly blog post. This week saw a holiday that was spent doing errands and not much else. New Year

Wow, so it has been a while since I have written. This Christmas I kind of laid low. Took it easy. Relaxed. I needed that and it was an easy one. I did not have to go anywhere. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to my family and friends. I am taking a break from my hiatus to write a Christmas letter on my blog. Our shining star this year has been Brennon. He has grown by leaps and bounds. He started off barely communicating and now he knows all his letters, numbers, shapes and colors. Hiatus

So I haven't been blogging lately. I am on hiatus. My Cheat and Treat Diet has dropped to like 2 downloads a day. I have learned that there really is one shot at iPhone notoriety and that is at the beginning. I bet everyone gets 4000 downloads when they are on the "new" list. Then money must be put into advertising or word of mouth makes it grow. I of course will not invest any more into my ventures. It must be spread by word of mouth. Dancing Mustache

So this weekend Holly and I went to a club and went dancing. It was at the Gaylord Texan hotel called the Glass Cactus. It was a nice club for the over 30 crowd. They had a cover band with a good guitarist whose style reflected my own. I thought that could have been me up there. Anyways it was fun.

Thank you Vets

Special thanks to all the veterans out there . I played guitar at the VFW many times and have great respect for their service. I work with a veteran and hear his stories of Iraq and am amazed at how life changing the experience is, especially when you are in combat.

Heart Tub

So what have I been thinking about? Well obviously my diet app is on my mind. I have had over 2600 downloads and 12 cookies of shame bought. So in a week I get around $10. Of course I have plans for an ad free version that costs a buck. Then there is the question of how to market it. You have got to reinvest the money into ad to get people to download it.
